Found

First of all, how do you lose a turtle? They're too dang slow to get away!
Second, It was a nice gesture for the person who found him to place an ad in search of his owner. But I'm pretty sure there's only so many lost turtles, and so many ways to describe one.

Found in the Huntington Beach local newspaper.

I found a tortoise once. It was humongous, and I thought it was a huge rock that someone had put by our trash can outside by the curb. We kept him in the backyard for a few days and posted signs around our neighborhood and down the road - luckily the owner drove by one and called us. Turns out she worked for the San Diego Zoo and had been keeping the big guy at her house for the time being - he was over 100 years old. He had traveled over a few miles to get to my house, across streets and everything.
