Shady Ride

So sometimes I neglect the blog because I'm busy or lazy. But sometimes I come across something I absolutely must post. This is one of those posts.

Here's real craftsmanship for the mindful consumer.

Dress up

What I want to post is some documentation of the last, busy month, but that'll have to wait.. in the meantime I'll post things that I'm liking or just stuff I happen to come across. It's quick, easy and keeps this going.

Bridget Brigade, a character animation artist created this insert for the San Francisco Chronicle and Chicago Tribune. Her take on the paperdoll is so cute, I wouldn't mind dressing up in those ensembles for real.

Sweet Streets Recap

The night turned out to be a huge success! I couldn't be happier with the turnout and the number of supportive homies who dropped by to check it out.

If you missed out, no worries, there was enough press coverage to document the event so we can all relive the colorful madness. And actually the show is still on until it concludes on Oct 4th 2010... so no excuses! If you wanna stop by...stop by!

My favorite snap of the night. Bubblepunch's Yume Ninja's heeless heels. You go girl!

Crystalize

As if brass knuckles weren't threatening enough. Add crystals to 'em and it's guaranteed no one will come near you. These knuckles are ones you'd never want to meet your face.

Crystal Brass Knuckles (I'm going to realign your chakras motherf*****) by: Debra Baxter

Here's a prettier, peaceful and more practical approach to crystals.

A new do

I've been needing a haircut for some time now and since I don't know what to do with it but keep growing it, I've decided that I want to look like Zoe Kravitz. I just love love love the way her hair has that natural wave to it and how it looks like it falls perfectly into place no matter how she wears it. And to go on, long locks just remind me of earth, peace, and the hippy days... can't go wrong with that! Gosh Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz made a perfect match and offspring, Zoe Kravitz is a beauty!

Lady Like

I think it's safe to say that every lady loves jewelry. And to me, it's especially hard to come across a unique piece that'll make a bold statement. Luckily though I've come across these amazing, unconventional finds that I can imagine spicing up even the blandest of outfits.

All available via Bona Drag, which interestingly means "'nice outfit.' The words come from a secret language called polari that was used by the gay culture in London during the 60's. The phrase was introduced to me by Morrissey."

Why hello there

It could be my obsession with the color maroon/burgundy. Or it might be that they're velvet. Perhaps both?
Whatever it is, they sure got my attention.

Are you a Nasty Gal?

Video look books are such a trend right now. ShopNastyGal hopped on it and produced their first. What I have to say? Short and sweet and the backwards motion is tight.
Not bad.. not bad.

Fix up look sharp

If you haven't already browsed Swipelife.com you should pay it a visit. Yea sure, it's geared for men, but I find myself checking for updates on the frequent! Swipelife is pretty much the shit at trend forecasting and they have full previews of men designer collections! Tell me that's not a goody?! Then if that doesn't tickle your fancy they got the scoop on the latest cars, architecture, gadgets, and ladies. Yep, it's a well rounded, and very tasteful place. I even made a collage of my faves.

Im with the band

Designer line 'Band of Outsiders' has got it going on.
Kirsten Dunst is the main face for it, and I don't really care for her, but she's a lucky one for getting to wear all the neat threads. The style kind of reminds me of going through mom's closet when I was little. It's a little bit of casual and a little bit dressy, a little mature and a little adolescent, but most of all it's whole lot of FLAVOR!

Kirsten Dunst for women's line.

Better than Amy

And she doesn't look like she just did 10 lines.

Love the attitude!
Can't you just feel it?!
